The Global Small Business Awards, a non-profit event, were founded by Ashley Shumba to serve as a platform to recognize, publicize and reward the achievements of individuals and organizations, who have contributed immensely to economic growth locally and globally.

The Global Small Business Awards are organized by the Global Small Business Foundation on an annual rotational basis.

The aims and objectives of the Awards are to:-
